What to do when your phone
is not working
Follow these simple steps and get talking
again... If your phone is currently not
working or there is no dialtone please follow
these steps:
1. Unplug all equipment, phones, computers
and fax machines from the all the telephone
jacks inside the home.
2. Wait 30 minutes.
3. Using a corded phone (NOT WIRELESS) check
all jacks for dialtone
If there is still no dialtone plug the phone
directly into the Network Interface box or D-marc
box located outside the home.* If you are in an
apartment and do not have access to your D-marc
box please contact the apartment manager for assistance.
If your phone is still not working please call
the 1-800-RECONEX customer service department
at 1-800-275-8223.
Please note

1-800-RECONEX and the local telephone
company are responsible for the maintenance of
the outside telephone wiring leading up to your
house or apartment. The installation and maintenance
of wiring and jacks inside your home is your responsibility.

*The D-marc box or demarcation point will be
located at the telephone protector, which can
be located either inside or outside your house
or apartment. The telephone protector is usually
black in color if located inside and usually grey
if located outside.
